CBC had wonderful coverage of the day ceremonies on Parliament Hill and I watched it from home. Here are some screenshot highlights.
I love that the ceremony started with indigenous performers.
One of the performers stood as a dignitary. Awesome!
Prince Charles and Camilla arrive.
So great to see Justin's mom, Margaret Trudeau, in attendance!
Could any country have a more beautiful couple leading it?
Aside from a minor gaff (sorry Alberta!) our PM did us proud and spoke from the heart.
The Royals are looking well!
Bono made a speech about Canada and our potential and his vision for us that brought many to tears.
A bittersweet moment.
End of an era!
I had no idea Prince Charles was such a fan of Canada!
Shania got to introduce two brand new Canadian astronauts.
Trudeau switches roles for a moment.
The celebration were capped off with our dear friend and Dominion Carillonneur, Andrea McCrady, finally becoming a Canadian citizen! She can be seen in the centre, back row. Andrea performed earlier on the Peace Tower Carillon for the Canada 150 celebration from 9:30 to 10:00 am.
Here is Pierre's arrangement of Jesous Ahatonnia in Huron. Truly Canadian!
