Short and sweet (and late ) today. Thought you'd like to see our song lineup for our upcoming Spring Concert, June 3rd 7:30 p.m. at St. Barnabas Church, 70 James street - downtown Ottawa.
Our Spring A cappella Choral Concert of music spans the Renaissance up to famous and original Contemporary.
22 songs will be performed by the choir, in English, Latin, Italian, German, Spanish and French - spanning centuries to the present day!
Modern pieces include: "Sleep" by Eric Whitacre, "Earth Song" by Frank Ticheli, "Contre Qui Rose" by Morten Lauridsen and "One Last Song" by Michael McGlynn.
Popular renaissance madrigals like "Come Again" by John Dowland, "El Grillo" by Josquin Des Prez and "Il bianco e dolce cigno" by Jaques Arcadelt will be heard.
Also, Antonio Lotti's popular Renaissance Mass will be sung in its entirety.
And that's not all! Local fiddle group, Fiddlehead Soup will be performing two pieces - one in a Turkik dialect!
More info on the concert.
Advance tickets are $15 - available online. $20 at the door. Children 12 and under are free.
Hopefully there will be some tulips left to see from the Tulip Festival too!
