Thanks to local retailers! Gift basket door prizes at concerts

For every Stairwell Carollers concert, for many years now, we have given a door prize of one of our CDs or a cookbook. A few years ago, I decided to approach local businesses to help fill gift baskets -- to say thank you to our audiences. It was gratifying to experience the generosity of some of the retailers, most of which are inundated with donation requests at this time of year.

Every Stairwell Carollers door prize Gift Basket includes a Stairwell Caroller Christmas CD, assorted goodies such as specialty teas, coffee, mug, biscuits, cookies and, of course, chocolate. I've also popped in the CD Rom version of our cookbook, Eatwell -- which my husband and our director, Pete, designed to open nicely in a browser window. The Eatwell Cookbook CD has a selection of unpublished songs for you to enjoy while you browse the recipes. All recipes are printable too.

Topped off with shatterproof Christmas balls and a bow, the basket is complete!

Thanks to these local retailers for their generous donations:

Sobey's in Barrhaven gave us a $75 gift card -- kick starting my quest! Thanks so much!

Still using the giant box of snowy silver and white spring fill!
Kit and Kaboodles in Manotick for "spring fill", Spool of thread in the photo gives you an idea of the size of the box !

Sebastian of Starbucks beside Sobeys in Barrhaven and the Starbucks at Indigo in Marketmall
gave us $40 each worth of coffee and goodies to plump up our baskets.

Daniele at Second Cup in Barrhaven gave us a generous gift bag of their coffee and tea products.

Home Depot In Baarhaven - a lovely bag of decorations

Stoneware ornaments from Patty, soprano, and wicker baskets from Denyse, also soprano, and I was ready to assemble baskets.

Baskets will be given as door prizes at the receptions after the concerts. See you there!

You must in attendance at the concert reception to win.

We have only three 2015 Christmas concerts left!

See our Concert page for details.
