Our gorgeous new Banner a banner deal from online company

Stairwell Carollers Vinyl Banner

How do you like our new banner for our Manotick Farmers Market Stall? Sam of Sam's Sprouts gave us the idea and we ordered it online from Vistaprint. It was very inexpensive, keeping our operating costs down to a shoestring. And it smells like a new doll :) They delivered it within a few business days exactly when promised and the design is spot on. We picked up a set of tablecloth weights from the dollar store to keep it hanging nicely and voila!

Advice for designing your own banner -- make sure to choose the BLEED option so that your design is full to the edge of the vinyl. I would recommend the heavier weight vinyl for outdoor use. Check and recheck your design for details and mke sure your image has a high enough DPI to avoid that pixelly JPG look when it is enlarged.

I recommend Vistaprint to anyone who wants to make a professional looking banner for an event or a small business or market stall :) They also have a lot of other cool goodies you can get with your logo on it.

Peace Tower Carillon tomorrow, the Market on Saturday -- come on out!

Veggies at the Manotick Farmers Market

So much is happening!
Tomorrow, Pete's composition Mourning Dove, will be played on the Peace Tower Carillon during the one hour concert starting at 11:00. The forecast says 40% chance of showers, which seems fitting as the tune is a melancholy piece. I'm crossing my fingers for a wee sunshine throughout the clouds.
We will be up in the tower with Andrea McCrady, our Dominion Carillonneur, as she plays the concert. It's a tiny space, just room enough for the carillon, Andrea and about six guests. A small elevator takes us up. The room is sound proofed, so we have just a muffled echo of the bells as she plays.

Denyse visited the Stairwell Tent last week, giving us a great opportunity to catch up. Rehearsals are often so busy that we barely get a chance to say Hi and Bye before going our separate ways. A fun day! We are taking this week off from the Market, but will be there Saturday, August 16th. In our absence, we here that local theatre company, ITR (Isle on the River Review) will be there to entertain with some theatre in the park and an info booth.

Keep up the great work everyone!

The Manotick Farmers Market -- an eclectic experience just a few minutes south of Ottawa

Whether you want fresh vegetables and fruit, organic eggs, fudge or even a sprout garden in a jar, the Manotick farmers Market has it all!

Open from 8:30 am till 2:00 pm Saturdays until October 11th, 2014, the Market stands across from historic Watson's Mill in The quaint town of Manotick, south of Ottawa.

And this weekend, I will be there representing my charitable choir of 37 years, the Stairwell Carollers.

Come say Hi, and ask me about our charitable efforts which include concerts, CDs and even a cookbook to celebrate our 30th anniversary of song.
